Introduction

Bandrone 50mg tablet belongs to a class of medicines called bisphosphonates. It contains Ibandronic acid as the active ingredient. It is mainly used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Osteoporosis commonly occurs in women after menopause due to a decline in estrogen hormone, which leads to bone loss and increased risk of fractures. Bandrone 50mg helps strengthen bones, reverse bone loss, and lower the chances of fractures.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Ibandronic acid or any component of the formulation. Consult your doctor if you have difficulty sitting or standing upright for at least one hour or if you have a history of low calcium levels in the blood.

Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor if you have dental or gum problems, poor dental hygiene, or are scheduled for a dental procedure. Smoking may increase the risk of jaw-related dental complications. Also, inform your physician if you have cancer, have used bisphosphonates previously, or are taking corticosteroids (such as Prednisolone or Dexamethasone).

Inform your doctor if you have any problems related to the esophagus (food pipe), stomach disorders, kidney disease, or if dental surgery is planned. This medicine contains lactose; discuss with your doctor if you have intolerance to certain sugars.
