Introduction

Regonat 40 mg tablets contain the active substance regorafenib. It is a medicine used to treat cancer by slowing down the growth of cancer cells. The tablets treat colon or rectal cancer, certain types of stomach and bowel cancer, and liver cancer. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any liver problems, had or have bleeding problems, severe stomach and bowel problems, heart problems, or high blood pressure. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to regorafenib.

Uses

Regonat 40 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of:

• Colorectal cancer that has started to spread to other parts of the body
• Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) (a type of stomach and bowel cancer)
• Liver cancer in adult patients who have already undergone treatment with Sorafenib

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Although all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Severe:

• Allergic reaction
• Severe liver problems
• Bleeding
• Gastrointestinal perforation
• Infections
• Heart attack and severe chest pain
• Severely high blood pressure
• Skin eruptions
• Pancreatitis
• Skin cancers
• Confusion, seizures, headaches, and vision loss with or without high blood pressure
• Stevens-Johnson syndrome
• Skin detachment
• Enlargement of a blood vessel or a tear in a blood vessel

Common:

• Reduced number of white blood cells
• Hypothyroidism
• Lowered levels of phosphate, potassium, calcium, sodium, or magnesium
• Elevated level of uric acid in the blood
• Dehydration
• Headache and tremors
• Peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling, weakness, or pain)
• Changes in taste, dry mouth
• Heartburn
• Gastroenteritis (inflammation and infection of the stomach)
• Hair loss (alopecia)
